Multiverse

Maybe in a different world.
In another life.
I could be yours and you could be mine,
but in this world
You’re just a boy,
and I’m just a girl.
Maybe in another universe.
On another planet called Earth.
I could be yours and you could be mine,
but in this timeline
you’re just you and I’m just me,
and there’s no such thing as meant to be.
Maybe in a distant galaxy.
On a planet with copies of you and me.
We are like star crossed lovers
drifting in the sand.
We walk through the water
Hand in hand.
And at night we watch the stars and wonder
about the other Earth,
about the other us. Is there an us?
Was fate enough to travel across
the universe?
Does love cross dimensions?
Maybe in a different world.
In another life.
In another timeline, or
in a distant galaxy
fate could be our destiny
and love would find you and me.
