I think sometimes it’s easy to forget we’re all just people. We’re all just trying to live our best lives. It’s easy to forget that the person on the other side of the counter is a real human being with thoughts and emotions, too. That strangers have stories. That we all share this world. We all do our part to keep society moving, and this is necessary to an extent—but to what end?
To what end is the “deal” worth losing humanity? Is anger a proper recourse to a mistake, or for things not going as expected? Mistakes happen. There could be worse tragedies. Why do some people resort to anger, while others choose kindness?
Everyone is dealing with something. A little kindness can go a long way.
There’s no reason to fight. People can disagree and still respect each other.
Life is too short to hold grudges. Find a way to let go and move on. Can’t? Still choose kindness.
These days, the world needs a little more kindness. I hope to be the kind of person who brings light. Because being kind isn’t about the other person. It’s about being a person of character. A person who cares for others and treats them with respect.
A person who chooses kindness.
